– Written Comprehension (60 minutes)
Journalistic text (900-1200 words) followed by 8 multiple-choice questions
Literary text (900-1200 words) followed by 5 open-ended questions (20-40 words each one)

– Written Production (90 minutes)
A written summary of a provided text (150-200 words)
A formal letter with a clear position (150-200 words)

– Morphosyntactic and Lexical Skills (90 minutes)
Text to be completed among different idiomatic expressions (6 items)
Text with idioms to replace (15 items)
Fill-in-the-blanks (20 items)
Transformation exercise from direct to indirect speech

– Listening Comprehension (40 minutes)
A TV or radio text with 6 multiple-choice questions
A TV or radio text with 6 information to be identified among the 12 provided
Radio news with 6 phrases to be completed (max 20 words each one)

– Oral examination in pairs (30 minutes)
2 discussions about 2 different themes among those proposed
Role-play

By passing this examination, the candidate has proven that he/she understands with ease virtually everything heard or read in Italian. He/she can summarize information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. He/she can express himself/herself spontaneously, fluently and precisely, differentiating between finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.
