– Seminar in Italian language about the history of Ravenna and the art of mosaic.
– Guided tour of UNESCO monuments of Ravenna.
– Tutorial and wine tasting, with snacks and local specialities.
– Tour of the fishing village in Cesenatico, with Italian Aperitifs and snacks, on the canal designed by Leonardo da Vinci.
– Farewell lunch by the sea, in a gourmet restaurant.
Second week (optional) program.
– Seminar on Contemporary Mosaics and guided tour of the MAR Museum.
– Home cooking course with an Italian family: prepare traditional recipes while learning and socialising in Italian.
– Excursion to the medieval village of Brisighella. This area is also famous for its olive oil production, with a visit and tasting at an oil mill.
– Theoretical and practical mosaic workshop in a traditional artisan studio. Participants will create a small object to take home.
– Farewell dinner in a traditional restaurant in the centre of the city.
– In Ravenna it is possible to immerse oneself totally in Italian culture. In the high culture of the Byzantin art, of the classical music, of the Dante’s poetry (he buried right in Ravenna). In the popular culture: regional cuisine, typical wines, local traditions.
– The course is organized so as to allow students to learn, in a relaxed and entertaining way, the main aspects of the Culture of Ravenna.
